Christopher Noland's "Interstellar" follows the story of Cooper (McConaughey) and a small crew as they attempt to find a new home after a blight continues to threaten global agriculture. At first blush the movie is story simply about survival, at a deeper level it's about the love between a father and a daughter. Hans Zimmer's soundtrack proves to be a fitting companion to the striking visuals. While Nolan's dialogue can be a bit more expository than needed, the drama is set up well. The characters become proxies for deeper themes about survival, sacrifice, and love.  The film is fundamentally celebratory of man's capacity to innovate without being naive as to the consequences. It is a must watch for anyone who enjoys heady sci-fi.
